AIM Carries While USO and CRCL Cut Quick - 3/18/26
AIM USO CRCL
TLDR
USO: quick pre-market short → reclaimed → cut and avoided chop
CRCL: small short, realized wrong setup → scratched
AIM: main trade → clean fade into $1, solid execution
Trades I Took
USO
Tried a pre-market short after a failed news pop, but it quickly reclaimed so I cut it. Left it alone after that and considered the long thesis over previous highs but would rather wait for FOMC and a clearer setup. No reason to force it.
CRCL
Took a small short pre-market thinking it might pull back with the market. Realized quickly that shorting a strong name wasn’t the right play. Scratched it for a small win and moved on. It never really broke down.
AIM
Main focus today. Big gapper with a history of fading. Started in pre-market and added on the pop at the open for a solid average.
Covered most into the move down to $1. Tried to re-short the bounce, overmanaged it a bit, but still got some decent adds and stayed with the idea. You can make a good living off this one setup.

Takeaways
Good job staying patient and not forcing trades. The main lesson is to stay aligned with the right names. AIM fit the playbook, CRCL didn’t. Stick to that.
