Daily Trading Recap - 2/13/26
Dip and Rip
TLDR
Caught the Bitcoin bounce
Missed the first leg in NBIS, bought the dip but it went nowhere.
Faded MLEC, some decent flushes but choppy overall.
Trades I Took
IBIT 0.00%↑
Bitcoin put in what looked like a higher low yesterday, and this morning it was slightly gapping up. My thought was that if it could get over the prior day’s high, we could see a bigger bounce day.
I got long anticipating a break of pre-market highs and got stopped almost immediately. It flushed the lows, then instantly reclaimed and pushed to new highs. That reclaim was the real signal. I got long again and from there it gain momentum. I scaled out into strength and even added as it cleared the prior day’s high.
The plan now is to look for the next dip to get long again if crypto sets up for a bigger-picture bounce.
NBIS 0.00%↑
Datacenter names showed relative strength yesterday, but the price action wasn’t super clean. I didn’t want to get caught in an early shakeout this morning, especially after seeing how names like CRWV have been moving.
I missed the first leg up in NBIS waiting for confirmation. Once it confirmed the breakout, I bought the dip. The idea was continuation higher after the breakout. Instead, it went completely sideways. I cut it and moved on.
MLEC 0.00%↑
MLEC was the low float small cap gapper of the day with only about a 500k float. I didn’t think the volume was overwhelming, so I was comfortable trading it. I shorted the first bounce in the morning and covered into the flush after it halted down. That was the cleanest trade on the name.
I re-shorted the bounce back to VWAP, but got stopped out.
It never broke pre-market highs and failed again, so I got short once more and covered into shallow targets. The price action was frustrating and choppy, and I probably tried to force a bit too much out of it.

Takeaways
Today was about staying flexible. The first IBIT stop could’ve thrown me off, but the reclaim setup was clean and worth re-entering. That made the day.
On the small caps, I need to be careful not to overtrade choppy names just because they’re moving. And on breakouts like NBIS, if momentum doesn’t show up quickly, it’s fine to scratch it and move on.
