Daily Trading Recap - 2/24/26
Missed the open, caught some intraday setups
TLDR
Missed the open. Small caps were dead anyway.
Shorted MU on a breakdown, stopped out on reclaim. Missed the better afternoon setup.
AMD intraday breakout worked early but fizzled out.
IREN was the cleanest trade. Caught the pullback and trend into the close.
Big move in energy names (again…), sold more GEVX
Trades I Took
MU 0.00%↑
I was distracted this morning working on my Openclaw projects and missed the open. By the time I locked in, there wasn’t much happening in small caps, so I focused on semis.
MU fbo’d over prev day highs, failed, tried again, then broke the opening range low. At the same time, SanDisk was weak off a short report from Citron Research. I shorted MU looking for continuation.
Instead, it reclaimed fast. That killed the thesis. I stopped out and moved on.
Later in the afternoon it broke VWAP cleanly, which would’ve been the better reshort.
AMD 0.00%↑
AMD has partnered with Meta to sell $60 billion in AI chips over five years. That was this mornings catalyst.
It sold off early, then built higher lows. I bought the range break and added over the opening range high. Sold some over 215 into strength.
When it pulled back into that breakout area, I added again, but momentum stalled. I trailed out and sold the rest as it faded. It held 213.80 into the close, but never expanded.
IREN 0.00%↑
Clean daily. Tight consolidation. Looked ready to break. I missed the initial move but waited for a pullback instead of chasing. Bought the bounce, sat through an hour of sideways around VWAP, then added on the next breakout.
It finally started trending toward high of day. I scaled out into strength and sold the rest into the close.
Swings and Other Notable Mentions
-Sold more GEVX today. What an awesome move.
-Scooped some EQT on the dip.
Current holdings: EQT GEVX NXT
Takeaways
Missing the open didn’t cost me much. There wasn’t much there. I still need to bring my attention back to premarket prep and planning instead of tinkering with my bot in the mornings. There’s just so much work to be done and I’m loving it.
